Can I extend my AC Adapter Charger wire?

Hello People
Quick one - can I extend my ac charger wire? I wanna make it much longer. standard one is 1.5m - I wanna make it 5-10m long, is it possible,safe and how?

Safer to plug it into a mains extension lead.
1. The internal voltage regulator is set to keep output stable with a known series resistance, being the resistance of the cable.
2. Adding extra cable resistance might prevent the overcurrent shutdown working in the event of a short. It may not be able to distinguish a genuine load for a short at the end of an extended cable.That could cause the cable to overheat.

What are the current and voltage ratings on the charger? What is the voltage tolerance of whatever is being charged? Is there a reason why the charger needs to be so far away from what it's charging?
