I'm looking for a specific and rare HDMI adapter for completing my DIY phone.

Hello to everyone.

I really need to buy the adapter you see in the 2 picture below somewhere on the internet.

Using two adapters is not good for me, you can understand the reason by giving a look at the picture 1.

In the 3 picture you see a HDMI port behind the display where should be attached the HDMI type A male…and the other side is the micro HDMI port FEMALE of the Radxa Cubie a7z.

So can you use an adapter with a short cable between the two connectors such as this?:

Otherwise the best I found was these two adapters connected back-to-back:

Welcome to AAC.

Somewhere in a box I have one of those. But I never used it because it would just become an HDMI port removal tool. The torque on the micro port is just too high for me to be comfortable with it.

Will you be mechanically supporting the connection?

i gave up on adapters as they create stress on PCB. instead of that i use cable adapters. they are longer overal (1ft or or whatever) but are more forgiving / gentler on PCB and have connector(s) that are more compact/easier to fit in tight spaces. and if needed, there is a 90 deg version too.

There is no enough space for those cables inside the case of the phone that I'm building, the one below. And give a look at the top and you will see where the problem is. There is an excessive distance between the board and the display because I'm using two HDMI adapters...

if you cannot find it - just make it yourself. what stops you from designing custom PCB with the pair of HDMI connectors that you need and at spacing that you require? since the space is the issue, eventually all of it should go onto single PCB anyway, just like commercial smartphones.

Tools and competence. My area of expertise is the Unix programming,I'm not an electronic engineer. If I don't find it I should hire someone, but in this case I should afford more costs.

do you have dimensions of what length (tip to tip) can be? maybe try ribbon cable variant. tthat solves any misalignment issue and cable is flat so excess can be (gently) folded.
example:
https://www.newegg.ca/p/2S7-09PS-005M4
Placing a cable between the adapters would make the situation worse because in this case we should also add the length of the cable. The total length would be 2.5 + 3 + 2.5 because they don't make HDMI cables shorter than 3 cm. But even if the cable were 0 cm, the two adapters alone would create a length of 5 cm, the one you see in the photo. The only solution is to find the adapter I'm looking for. Or spend some money to have someone build it for me. Or,I don't know,a brillant, alternative idea. I didn't find an HDMI cable that can be gentle folded, they are all rigid. And anyway,I don't like this idea, because the cable could breaks itself.

i may be missing something:
why do you need TWO adapters AND cable? just get one cable with correct ends and if needed fold the excess.

if i understand correctly you need "solution" that has HDMI-A male on one side and HDMI-D male (micro) on the other end and you want two ends to be as close as possible. so using single FPC/ribbon cable you can get the two connectors (A and D) back to back

round core cables are not going to be easy to bend. but the flat cables are:
https://www.newegg.ca/p/2S7-09PS-00530?Item=9SIC0U8M0W5932

and if needed excess of the board used for labeling can be trimmed off with a dremel.
using cable variant "1" that would shave off a cm or so.

variant "3" can go really back to back though boards being perpendicular would possibly create other problems.

It doesn't work. I've already contacted the company that makes those cables. I have bought a lot of those. The company don't make them less than 7 cm long. Even if I scrunched it up, the bump would be excessive and would take up space inside the case in terms of thickness. Furthermore, a cable like that isn't made entirely of plastic; it has ferrite plates at the ends that don't bend.

It is : 2 cm ferrite + 3 cm plastic + 2 cm ferrite = 7 cm. 3 cm of plastic that could be bent is not much. Or it is too much ? I don't know.
The real problem is that the space that I should cover is very few (2.5 cm ; 2 cm is even better) compared to the total cable lenght (7 cm). You can't crumple 7 cm to make it 2.5 cm.

can you confirm connector types? type A male (standard) and type D male (micro)?
Yes. Check the image that I have attached. On the top you can see the radxa cubie a7z and on the bottom the display. The radxa cubie a7z has a micro hdmi female port. The display has a HDMI type A female port. On the picture you see that I have used two HDMi connectors and how much lenght them take. A phone with so much distance between the board and the display is not realistic and aesthetically unpleasant. And the overall lenght is excessive.

Have you considered trying to replace the standard HDMI female connector with a micro HDMI male connector on the display board (below)?
