OK, and one point is that adding a greater current capability, if the initial supply was not overloaded and into current limiting, will not increase the current. To drive more current thru a load will require more voltage applied to the load. I=V/R at all times, in DC circuits. For AC circuits I=V/Z, where Z is the vector sum of resistance and reactance.
