Interesting documentary about 1 of the B-52 crashes in the US, Buzz 1 4. 36 Broken Arrow events in US alone. I knew of the one in my neighborhood dropped returning to base in Savannah which has never been recovered in the 60s.

These bombs can't explode from a nuclear reaction due to a crash. Plutonium dust is extremely toxic so you really don't want your weapons to be broken. Detonating a bomb is a very precise problem under perfect conditions. The odds of that happening in a random crash with a bomb without the layers of safeguards on an operational weapon are so remote it's basically impossible.
