Since you want a ramp, is the IGBT used as an emitter follower to drive the inductive load?
That's different than using it as a switch, where you wouldn't drive it with a sawtooth.

The snubber is to be determined after the inductor properties are obtained.

 

Here's a simple sim of a totem pole stage like yours, to demonstrate that it can pass several Amps to/from the 8nF cap (if appropriate transistors are used), providing the switching speed is high enough. Here the rise and fall times are 10 nanoseconds.

That's my take on his desire. Wouldn't it be better for him to do something like a class D amplifier, similar to how they do a modified sine wave inverter. Pretty sure from his history this has to do with a Tesla coil circuit in some way.
