I've used SharkBite fittings in a handful of tight spaces and have been very pleased with them. They installed very easily and have not had a hint of leakage from any of them. I haven't tried to remove any, but they are supposed to remove easily with their removal tool (really cheap).They are designed to be reusable, but I've read that they are more prone to leaks with each reuse. Their big downside, for me, is that they are quite expensive. But for a repair here or there, they are far from unreasonably so.

yes but within reason. when people use them as QDs they end up failing.

 

Using SharkBite you should watch a video first. If going to copper, remove the burs. Cut all pipes clean and at a right angle.

 

My first one involved fitting one to the sweated copper pipe from the previous removed leaky one. I heated the pipe with the torch and wiped it shiny with a fluxed
cloth /
