I love how they are pushing to legalize copyright infringement if it is done by AI so that nobody is guilty of plagiarism. And they are pushing to create system where artists are "able to opt out" from AI using their work. How about not having to do ANYTHING to prevent AI from touching your work? why not limit AI only to open source and works that are given EXPLICIT permision?

Show me an artist who claims they were not inspired by other art and I'll show you a liar. 90% of "art classes" is repeating what other artists have done or making derivative works of what other artists have done or simply studying what other artists have done and the brush strokes, chisel marks, polishing or painting techniques, comparing minor effects like tooling marks, finish, gloss, and so on.

Learning and practicing is one thing. Reproducing and claiming as own creation is another. Being exempt from any liability ifor plagiarism s yet another.

The company also claimed employees had agreed verbally to be paid $600 per week in salary, plus $600 per week in a merchandise credit.

Over the course of the investigation and subsequent appeal, the company also argued that the gift cards were never meant to be wages; that the gift cards were paid on top of salary; that the wage statements were erroneous and employees were never meant to receive the gross amount stated; and that it would be unreasonable to require Dayton Boots to pay the amounts shown as deducted as many employees did not work a full 40 hours in a week, according to documents.

This is the first time I've heard of an entire temple being tested. Pretty dramatic. The villagers will have to go to the next village to make merit.

The San Francisco Police Department said it does not have pre-armed robots and has no plans to arm robots with guns. But the department could deploy robots equipped with explosive charges “to contact, incapacitate, or disorient violent, armed, or dangerous suspect” when lives are at stake, SFPD spokesperson Allison Maxie said in a prepared statement.
