Interesting animation. This machine is not a literal machine, there are no mechanical linkages to cause the fingers to move. It's just an exercise in animation only. Like the Pixar lamp that jumps and looks around - it's not real. Nevertheless, it's pretty cool.

Years back - gotta be the early 80's I saw a video of a machine that actually played instruments, and it was quite cool. Wish I could find that video again.

Hello,

@Tonyr1084 , Here is a real life version of one of the instruments that I posted from animusic:

@bertus Yeah, I saw that maybe two years ago. Very impressive machine. Too bad it was not a mechanically sound machine. From what I've seen he's building a newer version. Or maybe it's already done - but either way I'm looking forward to coming across that video.

My friend Jeff made a machine inspired by Animusic's Pipe Dream:

Martin (Wintergatan) has been working on a "new" version of the "Marble Machine" for over a year now (nearing 2 years, actually - the "Marble Machine X"). The amount of improvements he's made is phenomenal.

Amazing to me that they are able to filter out the "machine noise" from the music.

Interesting test results:

Cool and relatively simple method for manufacturing (rugate) light filters.

Master escape plan: Grab a sub-scooter and scoot!:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fbi-suspect-underwater-sea-scooter-escape-lake-shasta-california/

A man wanted for his role in an alleged $35 million Ponzi scheme was arrested Monday after evading FBI agents by swimming into California's largest reservoir using an underwater "sea scooter," federal prosecutors said. Matthew Piercey spent about 25 minutes in frigid Lake Shasta using the Yamaha 350Li submersible device before he eventually resurfaced and was handcuffed

The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?

Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin'
Full time to floatin'

Under the sea
Under the sea
Down here all the fish is happy
As off through the waves they roll
The fish on the land ain't happy
They sad 'cause they in their bowl
But fish in the bowl is lucky
They in for a worser fate
One day when the boss get hungry
Guess who's gon' be on the plate?

Under the sea
Under the sea
Nobody beat us
Fry us and eat us
In fricassee
We what the land folks loves to cook
Under the sea we off the hook
We got no troubles
Life is the bubbles
That's why it's hotter
Under the water
Take it from me

This is just TOO DAMNED Cute!

Why have you started posting things, I assume are videos, from Twitter? Not every one uses Tweeter.

I don't have a twitter account either. You shouldn't need one to see videos because this site automatically formats the link (it does with Chrome).

One of the old air show tricks was for the plane to be off the ground when it left the hanger.

Not with Firefox. All it shows is a Twitter link, and when you click on it they want you to join to see.

Are you using the most recent version of Firefox? I use Firefox, and it's showing the Twitter page/preview/inset thingy just fine for me.

I don't know what version I have, but it just did another upgrade this morning. And all I get is a link.
