Occam's Razor dictates that divine intervention is a more plausible explanation...
Either that or someone was just plain a bad old shot!

Years ago I knew a man - featured on America's Most Wanted for killing his ex-wife. As I got to know him under an assumed name I found him to be just that sort of person - someone who would shoot someone just because they were having a bad day. He shot himself in the stomach. Thinking he would die - on his death bed he confessed. Survived. Then went to prison for the rest of his life. He was already 70 when I knew him. Come to find out he had been on the run for 14 years. Justice may be slow; but it usually comes full circle. - - - Shooting himself in the stomach couldn't have been any more "Point Blank". Yet he lived. Much to his dislight.

In the lobby of one of our college dorms was an old fashioned wooden sitdown pay telephone booth. A guy was sitting in it with the door closed when some irate guy from another school who was pissed off because he took his girlfriend out on a date opened up on him with a revolver. Six shots and not a scratch on him.

At Ecclesiastes 9:11 King Solomon said:
"I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all."

So even Wise King Solomon knew way back then that Chit happens!
