And now for something weird...

Was on a flight from NY to LA. Went to the bathroom. The door wasn't locked. So I opened it. A woman sitting inside screamed and grabbed the door and pulled it closed. THEN she locked it. When locked, the light came on. I wonder how many people will use one of these and not realize that you have to lock it.
I just got one of those Social Security statements in the mail. I did some back-of-the-napkin calculations, and just realized that I will need to live to 142 y.o. in order to get back just the principle that was paid by me, or paid on my behalf.
So - what? 2026?

A hovering target! What could be more appealing? He CAN'T use his hands to manipulate a weapon. That alone would take him down.

$440,000 jet pack. Hovering target - priceless. ")

Mount an automatic weapon on the helmet, with tracking to aim wherever the soldier is looking.

These things are not practical for defended positions. It's too slow, too loud and my buddies on the ground and at sea have cover. The flying guy needs to hit and incapacitate us with the first shot. That's a neat trick even with a gyro stabilized gun mounted to his back.

Our military has a plan to fight off a zombie attack but not one for an alien invasion.
So let me get this straight ? They are planning for the dead to actually come back to life (which has never, ever happened)
instead of planning for someone making it here from another planet.

Maybe it did? and they are afraid it might happen again.

God asked Ezekiel, “Son of man, can these bones live?” Ezekiel responded, “O Lord GOD, you know” (37:3). Ezekiel may have been hesitant, but he knew that God was able to raise bones to life. Ezekiel was told to prophesy the following to the bones: “O dry bones, hear the word of Yahweh . . . I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live . . . You shall live, and you shall knew that I am Yahweh” (37:4-6). When Ezekiel prophesied, there was a "rattling" (or an "earthquake," as in 3:12-13). The bones came together, and then flesh and skin came on them (37:7-8), “But there was no breath in them” (37:8). So Ezekiel prophesied “to the breath”—“Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live” (37:9). Breath came into the bones and they lived (37:10).

It's a joke but real plans have been made for just about any possible contingency, including 'Attacks of Unknown Origin'.
