In the roughly two months that it takes to climb Mount Everest, the average alpinist will have produced nearly 60 pounds of excrement. This season, porters who work on Mount Everest carried down 14 tons of human waste from base camp and other locations. It's dropped into earthen pits on Gorak Shep, a frozen lake bed near a village 17,000-feet above sea level, as The Washington Post wrote in 2015.

And how many of those scooters will simply disappear if they can sell them on the black market for more than the drop-off fee or the value of the hot meal?

No. Boots.
Ya, boots and a wet suit. I didn't actually think about it till now. When cows defecate along the beach, might be good to insulate yourself from feces.

Maybe I would just avoid the beach all together, maybe just go to a lake. Screw them they can have it.

I don’t drink water outside unless I can see the source, it’s above 12,000 feet (tree line), there is no evidence of human activity above, it’s cold and it looks pristine. It’s worked so far.
