Oxymoron -> 'Free Money'. A free money program online is a SCAM but because it's Canada it's not a SCAM? It's called stealing from X to give to Y in return for votes.
A bit of time spent in the ghettos of Chicago will lay this myth to rest.
I agree... human nature can't be changed... I have a friend whose wife is Finnish, and says that the system works well with the nationals... but not with foreign refugees.
Honestly, I don't think it works at all... any government that acts as if it were Robin Hood will sink its country into an economic catastrophe... Venezuela comes to mind...

Too old in Mexico: too old
Yeah, that was idiotic... but at least they fixed her situation:

*******

After a bank denied her a card to receive a pension, Jalisco Social Development headman took a check to María Felix, 116 years old.

REFORMA / Writing

After being informed that a bank denied her a debit card to collect 2 thousand 400 pesos of aid, the Secretary of Development and Social Integration of Jalisco, Miguel Castro Reynoso, took a check to Maria Félix Nava, of 116 years of age .

REFORMA published today that the woman could not collect this support provided by the dependency, since a bank did not want to give her the card because the age limit to deliver it is 110 years.

Faced with this, Castro Reynoso went to the old woman's home to give him the pension for the Senior Adult program.

"Let me sign your check so that I can have it on hand," he said.

"Here is your check, now someone from the office is going to take them so they can collect the check, this allows us to attend to a situation that is atypical, the truth is that there has been a series of confusions over time, it is a Totally absurd matter ".

The state official apologized to the woman born in July 1900 and said he will pay more attention so that it does not happen again with any beneficiary of programs.

"These kinds of things do not have to happen, these kinds of practices are not common," he said.
