aren't there some states in which those activities are not considered criminal?
Don't know. Most states want to maintain their monopoly on gambling (the lottery) and make everything else illegal. Nevada is the notable exception and the internet is changing things elsewhere as well.

At least Nevada treats the degenerate gambler well while they are being fleeced. Internet gambling hasn't crashed the Vegas party yet. If the two nuns had a 1/2 million gambling history they were treated pretty well during those trips. I've got a weeks worth of free suites at the Venetian just waiting for a trigger pull and a open bank vault permit from the wife.:(

Putting aside the geopolitical intrigue of Russia’s relations with both Israel and Turkey, Yandex’s actions are a prime example of what is known as the Streisand Effect.

Where is that secret base?
So too with Yandex. By complying with requests to selectively obscure military facilities, the mapping service has actually revealed their precise locations, perimeters, and potential function to anyone curious enough to find them all.

Remember the "double dip"?

Now the people that bring us Philadelphia Cream Cheese bring us a Double Dip Detector.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/...reates-double-dipper-detecting-chip-bowl.html

Using the Diptector app, the device pairs with the owner's cellphone camera and takes a snapshot of the offender....

They say that they are using a pressure sensitive bowl and, my guess is that it is also a BLE peripheral. I would like to see a schematic and know the false alarm rate.

BTW: The prototype is available on the bay (currently at over $800 US) https://www.ebay.com/itm/372528180389 (I will pass)
