Just don't forget that, at the end of the day, we have a very limited ability to affect others (in the way you are talking about here). A sentiment I read once really rings true -- we all have a responsibility to improve the world, but must never forget that the world will never be perfect and, beyond some point, our efforts to make it so will only make it worse. This could well be a case in point. Your influence over an in-law probably has very finite limits before you enter the territory of damaging relationships -- and not just between the two of you.

 

My work and classes collided for over a month and I also got sick twice in less time than two months.

Lets just say that spiraling off course is easier to do than people think... The hardest thing to do is to get back on the horse but that is what we must do.
