Hi everyone
I have a acer aspire 5742 laptop that i need to disconnect the power to the gpu.
I hope someone can help me. My plan is to disconnect the power to the gpu, to make the laptop boot on the igpu.
The amd external gpu (soldered onto the board) died and the laptop boots properly but doesnt output anything (black screen)
My idea came from a youtube video of a person desoldering a "power supply component" of the amd gpu, which made the board controller boot on the intel igpu. By:
This video is for a hp laptop, and i am not sure which part translates to my laptop
I've attached pictures of the mainboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
CheersBoard controller? Underneath gpu
"above" the gpu. Battery connector seen top right. Also ram chips underneath silver heatsink.
lower left. Hdd connector seen on left side.
One last look at the whole board.
Once again. Thanks
