hello everyone , this is my first time to post on here so forgive me if I ask stupid questions. so here we go
I got my hands on a bunch of Dayton DC gear Motors with gearbox attached. they came out of a Zales jewelry store they were part of the security cabinets I am a custom cabinet maker I want to utilize these motors to raise up hidden bars in cabinets and what are the else fun stuff I can come up with but here is the issue I do not know how to power these Motors other than a car battery I do not believe that sales had car battery stuck in the cabinets inside the store I need to know what to do or what to buy to make regular 110 and to be able to run these DC motors respect of the motor are as follows
mod: 1L477
Hp 1/30 V 12 A 3.5
RPM Tr/mn 32
Torque Par 43 In. Lbs. 7N*mm Couple
Max Amb 40° Cont.Duty Insul. Class

Now as I mentioned I make cabinet maker nowhere near the electrician but I'm not scared to try so please if you can talk to me in layman terms not electrical jargon any help to make this happen will be greatly appreciated thank you in advance

They are 12VDC so there are Many PWM controllers on ebay for a couple of $$, or very cheap to make with a 555 and a small mosfet.
For power you need a 120v/12v transformer and a bridge rectifier from any electrical supplier, the current rating will depend on how many at once you will be running,
They are rated at 3.5amps each.
If you chose not to have variable speed, then ignore the need for PWM control.

thanks Max so check this out i hsve a transformer out of a APC 750 XL and i think i read somewhere that it would step it down to 12v the transformer is this
430-1211 Class 180(H) R333H LEI-4 E1654515 3F15
so you mention rectifier with a transformer..is this possible to do with this transformer? also i dont know what a rectifier is ;) sorry ...i talked to grsinger todsy and he told me i needed a item with this # 5JK22 , said its what they use at car shows to run the instruments and not the bsttery to be sble to see the dash bosrd lights and gadgets..its 80$ which isnt bad st all but if i can mske this happen with stuff ive already got and learn a thing or 2 i would much rather do thst as long as it is safe .. please if you dont mind imform me a little more about this i would be grateful for sure ..thanks in advance !

Google full wave bridge rectifier, you will see a raft of circuits.
You can get the square block type rectifier for 50amp to 60amp for just a few $$ which should suffice for your application.

If you don't need the PWM for variable speed, then you likely can just operate the motor directly from a 12V transformer using a bridge rectifier block, no capacitor filter needed.

You could start by connecting them to a 12vdc 3.5A power supply. It can have more amps. If the speed is ok, then that's it.

ok thsts the thing i dont know where to find said power supply ..thsts whst im trying to figure out.. i mean i plugged a 22 volt battery onto it today just to see what would happen and it ran like a charm ..it picked me up off the ground so it has the power.. my main thing is this ..i want to make it to where when i sale the cabinets i dont want the buyer to have to worry about anything but plugging it in ..no this , or go get that..just plug and play ..i want a remote on it to ..ive found some china stuff inthink will work..the motor will bot be running all rhe time umless i guss i sale it to a heavy drinker :) ..i mean the bar comes up out of yhe back of the cab..mix your drink..hit down and its hidden again untill next drink ..what will more than likely happen is it gets left up untill the end of the night.. so thats the goal.a badass cabinet that dont need anything at all breaking after a month or 2 ..yeah i know stuff happens but yiu get what im saying.. i really appreciate all the time you guys have taken to respind to me so far ...thank you

If you just want a simple power supply you probably can't beat this place for price and quality - https://www.mpja.com/12-Volt-Power-Supply/products/537/

I had a look at Grainger, they seem to have dropped a lot of the things they used to carry for that type motor. I had a little conveyor feed belt that used one like that, and a speed control that was sold for it, that I bought from Grainger years ago. Can't find it now on their site.

My personal choice if you are looking for reliability and just to feed motors is the linear supply over a SMPS, all you need as previously mentioned transformer and rectifier for a rugged supply.
May cost a little more than a Chinese SMPS, but more peace of mind.
My 2¢
