I am new and have a motor controller question ..... I have a treadmill 3 hp 130 vdc 2672 watt DC motor ...can I apply a simple controller like a MC 60 , and expect functionality ? This would be for a drill press conversion .

You could use the MC-60, it has the automatic soft start function which makes it easy on the power electronics, I prefer to remove the motor flywheel, this makes it even easier still and gives the motor a little better response.
