AC output power supply

Beginner here - looking for some direction on locating an AC output power supply. AC input, AC output. Specifically, I need to control the AC frequency output. Amperage is not too much of a consideration...can be on the lower side. I need to produce minimum 2000 Hz output, 12v.

Thanks for any help!

You are looking for a signal/function generator.

How much output current do you need?

Welcome.

Oscillator + your audio amplifier.

There is ones with a frequency display if you prefer :

PLUS a guitar amplifier, home stereo, public address audio amplifier capable of the power you want...

If the TS really wants an "AC POWER SUPPLY", then we need to know the details, which will be #1. The frequency range: lowest and highest, #2, The power supply output voltage range: zero to how many volts maximum. #3. The output power: watts or milliwatts, or, the output current capability.
Without at least that set of information there is no place to begin. 12 volts and 2000Hz is not enough.

Thank you very much. I didn't realize I need to be looking for a signal/function generator. I was searching for a "AC output power supply", which caused all my confusion.

Both terms describe useful devices that are available, but the two are quite different from each other. THAT is why I asked those questions.

One would expect an AC output power supply to output 50Hz or 60Hz (or perhaps 400Hz, for those who do aviation systems), because those are the frequencies at which power is supplied.
Any other frequencies (below 20kHz) would be classed as an audio signal generator.

One question that hasn't been asked of you is what kind of waveform do you want? There's amplitude sine wave, triangle wave, two different saw tooth waveforms and square wave. Another question is do you need positive AND negative waveforms? Or will a simple square wave do the job. You can click on the link in the "what kind of waveform do you want?" and it will take you to another page, one that explains different types of waves.

One last question: Can you share with us what the purpose or goal is?
