Hello All,

I have a three phase AC motor and I want to connect it to 380V with star connection. But I'm confused because there is two plate terminals as in the attachments and I don't know which one I should connect the power to.

Thank you,

I suspect that the motor has a built in electric brake. Am I correct ? Both look to be connected in star configuration. From the thicknes of the wires I think the left hand connections arethe motor and the right hand connections are the motor. I do not know if the brake is applied when power is applied or removed.

It looks to me as both motor and brake are star/delta configurable, if the brake is on with energize off then you will need to power both.
In most cases the brake is the energize off variety.
Try turning the shaft!

What I am thinking about is to supply both terminals individually ( motor and brake ) with two power supply of 380V.

Will this work? Or it will damage it?
Incidentally if the brake is the powered off variety, then you should power each from a separate overload and contactor, if the brake were to fail and drop its contactor, then it should be interlocked with the motor contactor to ensure the motor is disconnected in case of the brake power failure.
