I am designing an Antenna Tuning Unit For an High frequency Communication.
I need to sense the phase shift between the Voltage and current waveform, when the load is capacitive or inductive.

Kindly help me in this regard

 

What you need is a phase discriminator (typical: zero voltage output when the reactive component is zero and positive when capacitive and negative when inductive) and a R (load) discriminator (typical: 0 volts at 50 ohms and positive or negative away from 50 ohms) for a complete auto-tune unit.

I am in the position to tap voltage and current signals from the main RF line, using transformers, can this signals be used to find leador lag?

I mean to ask, using the amplitude of voltage and current signals can we find Capacitive or Inductive load.

I have another question,

When the load is capacitive, the voltage amplitude incerases and when the load is inductive, the current amplitude increases...
Is the above statement true????
