If so I hope it's merely a (temporary) hiatus! -- Another valued member driven away by needless political discussion is nothing short of tragic
And some of us have been here long enough to know the real JP, by experience. When mods and others disagree with and don't do as he dictates...poof, he's gone. In the past he deletes all of his content before leaving, this time he didn't. Predict he'll be back.

Then there's the Fargin Iceholes who are just annoying with their constant references to sex, booze, and their One And Only, God Blessed, pet Operating System which would cure all computer problems and has no limitations or problems of its own.
I know I am on #12's ignore list, so please, someone, let him know that this post is outrageously funny in ways he could not possibly imagine.

Thank him for making my day.

Fair enough. Moderators should not be ignoring any user.
I agree.

I just checked and, as near as I can tell (I have never placed anyone on my ignore list, so I am basing this on noting that the feature seems to be available) a moderator CAN ignore other users. This probably should be disabled and when someone agrees to be a moderator their entire Ignore List should either be purged or at least disabled for as long as they are officially a moderator.

@jrap: Is it possible to do this? Definitely a pretty low priority.

Recommendation to all other moderators -- you probably should purge your ignore lists if you haven't already. If nothing else, consider that someone that you have chosen to ignore is very possibly someone that, as a mod, you should NOT ignore since they are probably more likely to cause problems than the average member.

I hope so! I like John!:) -- As far as 'temperament' - as you say, I've not been a member here long enough to fully behold the on-line behavioral aspects of the various 'active participants' - That said, I've been known to exhibit a bit of 'attitude' myself on occasion (can we say; 'Arduino', 'the instruction of RK', etc...)

Very Best regards
HP:)

I don't see a way to do it out-of-box, and wasn't able to find any 3rd party add-ons. It doesn't sound too complicated to do though, i'll add it to the list.
Either a chance to corner the market with a new add-on you can sell to forum operators, or, there may be no market because forum operators trust their Mods to keep their Igore List empty.
