Hey, I've been looking everywhere for a specific device with no provail. I need something that can receive the sound frequency of a baseball bat hitting a baseball and numerically display each sound received on a LCD screen (digital counter). I don't need any information on the type of sound or reading on the sound just the number of times the sound occurs.

 

How about an iPod? It'll do a frequency analysis of sound input from its microphone.

 

Have you thought of attaching a microphone to a bat and recording the sound to better define the trigger signal?
