I think we have an anarchist (or two) in the pile.Any society that has to spy on its own citizens to survive deserves to fall cuz civilization is for ppl not the other way around!

nsaspook that's absolutely correct and most ppl don't even know itand if you use the utopian BitCoin instead of fiat, every translation will be tracked into a worldwide open ledger that anyone can trace.

Shall we reinstate slavery too?
#12 When the Govt stops governing then by definition everyone is an anarchist whether they like it or notI think we have an anarchist (or two) in the pile.
Don't think reinstatement of slavery is that far fetched! I'll bet you mandatorily signed up for it at the PO on your 18'th B-Day?Tyranny will be enough.
I've been looking at, "the other news" lately, mostly as a desensitization exercise. When I see how much and how violent the corruption around me is, my mind begins to accept reality instead of raising my blood pressure. This comes from my insight that the main cause of emotional discomfort is the difference between reality and beliefs. As long as I believe the world shouldn't be the way it is, the longer I stay unhappy. Only by realizing what reality is can I work with it correctly, and I don't believe elevated B.P. is an effective strategy. Now I have to count to 100 for my BP's sake cuz political talk does it to me every time![]()
You claim the government officials are corrupt but somehow think citizens are inherently honest. Announce an end to audits and you will see an end to tax payers. Oversight is necessary evil of a society.#12 When the Govt stops governing then by definition everyone is an anarchist whether they like it or not![]()
I disagree. Unrepealed laws are still in the tyrant's inventory. All the tyrant has to do is call into session a secret court or a kangaroo court to use unjust laws to destroy whomever is inconvenient.unenforceable laws are practically the same as repealed laws![]()
Not slavery. They pay and freedom is not free. They may draft me but I know my parents are free because of it (and if I am successful, my kids will stay free as well).Don't think reinstatement of slavery is that far fetched! GopherT I'm not advocating total cessation of audits just end of audits and any type of investigation without probable causeYou claim the government officials are corrupt but somehow think citizens are inherently honest. Announce an end to audits and you will see an end to tax payers. Oversight is necessary evil of a society.
I think you've named a very good point. When some people say, "Get the government out of my bedroom", some other people say, "Aha! So you want to destroy our country!" That must be some well recognized logical fallacy. Adhering to the Constitution is not an act of treason.GopherT I'm not advocating total cessation of audits just end of audits and any type of investigation without probable causeCuz otherwise it constitutes random search and seizure!
GopherT I say you can't have it both ways! Conscription is slavery and conscription leading to death of the conscripted is murder! So buying freedom and life with freedom and life makes no sense at all to meNot slavery. They pay and freedom is not free. They may draft me but I know my parents are free because of it (and if I am successful, my kids will stay free as well).
#12 That sounds like serenity? Whatever it is I hope it comes to me with time! The sooner the betterI've been looking at, "the other news" lately, mostly as a desensitization exercise. The question about transporting over 10,000 and reporting transactions over 10k come from a 30 plus year law in the fight against the illegal drug business. Money laundering is also a game people play who are associated with the illegal drug distribution system. Typically it's asked for those international travelers using various modes of transportation.I could accumulate $10,001 dollars and still think it's nobody's business but my own.
jgessling RelaxGee, talking about spinning off the tracks!
I have a dear friend that's in Zimbabwe right now. They actually encourage using US dollars, rather than going to the currency exchange to get piles of Zimbabwe dollars. The first time I went to Thailand was right after a severe devaluation....which is actually great for us visitors.Sorry folks, not enough room in the title to specify it was in Zimbabwe dollars.
The 10Trillion dollar note is worth about 0.40 US dollars. They can be purchased on ebay for more than $5 each as a novelty item/collectable.

Recent hyper inflation (5000% on zimbabwe dollar basis on local goods/services) has been halted by simply abandoning a local currency and using the currency of multiple countries/regions instead.
I'm surprised the value of these bills has not skyrocketed because of extensive use in folk medicine - a method to cause hyper inflation.
JoeJester it used to be that _structuring_ wasn't a crime all too itself but rules were changed so ppl have lost their businesses and livelihoods for just repeatedly making like $9k deposits even though investigation proved no criminal activity!Typically it's asked for those international travelers using various modes of transportation.
I say narcotics laws are mostly a Govt rationalization to hassle and conduct surveillance on everyone! They know that easiest way to stop drug trade is to destroy market by decriminalization! Nobody can convince me that the federal Govt spends all that money and manpower just to save some losers from themselves! I say the whole war on drugs thing is abt government power and reachreporting transactions over 10k come from a 30 plus year law in the illegal drug business. Money laundering is also a game people play who are associated with the illegal drug distribution system.
True.ppl have lost their businesses and livelihoods for just repeatedly making like $9k deposits even though investigation proved no criminal activity!
Try looking at drugs as untaxed commerce. The government is not motivated by concern for morals or health, that's just their PR spin. The government is concerned with wealth and power. Declaring War on Untaxed Commerce suspends the Constitution. That gives the government the power to intimidate anybody and surveil everybody. We The People are at war with our own government, by declaration of the government. You and I might not be doing any untaxed commerce, but the war has been declared and we are being treated as enemy combatants. If you don't believe it, say, "Constitution" to a LEO and watch how fast he laughs at you.I say narcotics laws are mostly a Govt rationalization to hassle and conduct surveillance on everyone!
