I ordered 10k pots with washers and nuts for a small project. They arrived today. They are 5k and no washers nor nuts in sight. :(

That's the beauty of the internet. If you had a store available you might have walked in and checked the product and bought it. But no, you all decided cheap price was more important and now complain when there's a problem. Very similar effect to the airline industry.

I finally wrote off ebay entirely this year.

Between the dishonest sellers, crooked or just clueless buyers and their zero protection for honest people policies and price gouging fees on every sale transaction I had enough.

For years I used to love buying stuff on ebay. Not now. Total crooked crap hole now.

Same with paypal too. Gave them the finger the same week for the same reasons and never looked back.

Hello,

We order our parts at Farnell (newark in the USA).
We seldom got the wrong parts.
Once we got wrong parts and claimed.
We got the correct parts and should keep the wrong parts, as sending them back would cost more that the parts would cost.

They were all OMG!
I was all, Go back to sleep. They are spares. You can see what's wrong, just send the right ones.

Yeah. They are from Chinese seller. I started refund process.

The problem with Digikey, Mouser is that the shipping will be 4-6 dollars when parts themselves will be about 2 dollars.

That is true. I don't think Mouser or digitkey ever sent me an incorrect part. I may have ordered an incorrect part, but that would be my fault.

I had a duplicate on one of my my orders. Mouser immediately sent me the usual, "If any changes reply here". I replied within a few hours and Mouser said, "sorry, too late".

What? If the order goes to shipping within a few minutes, why offer to change the order?

I don't follow how a few hours becomes a few minutes?
I responded a few hours later. Mouser processed the order in a lot less time. If you want to know the exact number of minutes Mouser requires to process an order, you will have to ask them.

I guess I shouldn't complain, but with Digikey, If I found that soon after I sent the order I had forgotten an item, I contacted them ASAP and they say that my order has already gone to the warehouse, after a couple of min I get a email telling me my order is filled and a tracking No.
I guess they notify Fed-Ex right away to enable the next day delivery.;)

Yes, I know they are fast, I occasionally order from them too.
That's probably why they put the reminder in their order confirmation emails to encourage their customers to double check their order just incase there is a mistake so they can get ahold of them right away otherwise you're going to be SOL on fixing it a short time later.

That's why I didn't follow your comment of
If the order goes to shipping within a few minutes, why offer to change the order?
when obviously by your own admission far more than a few minutes had passed before you responded to to them.

Free shipping for small value orders doesnt really exist.

You dont get free services anywhere in this world.

So if they offer free shipping, other buyers pay for it theres a general markup built into all items.

Also small sellers usually dont pay tax, and may calculate their business costs wrongly.

When the item is 99 cents, theres 30 cents base charge plus international fee plus ebay fee.

This leaves a little more than 50 cents for item, packing and posting work, and packing materials and business costs.

Ther is no free shipping offered or organized by chinese government.

But there is investors who simply want to dominate the online market. Once successful youll see prices doubling and beyond that.

So the free shipping is not a gift to you. Its to grab sales from other sellers. Here its not possible to avoid tax but in Hong Kong and China it doesnt seem to be a big deal.

For your post to be any useful you should include a link

Newark and Mouser in Mexico have implemented a free shipping policy. Thing is, all items cost an average of 20% to %40 more. But some items can be found that have the same price as in the U.S.
This has been fantastic when I've had to order just a couple of items in a hurry that only cost $5 dlls each. But it's more of a problem when dealing with volume quantities. When that happens, I order them directly from the U.S. sites and have them exported to Mexico.
