wiring up a Regulator 12v to 5v for a USB connection

I found the device on aliexpress as well. I used Google Reverse Image search; tineye produced no usable results.

The comments clearly indicate that the thin trace adjacent to adjust must be cut.

The comments also express frustration in getting a definition of using the EN pin.

UPDATE: If you don’t need the enable input, just ignore it and skip the rest of this post.

I’d make a jumper with a piece of wire and a 10KΩ resistor, hook up a DMM to the output. And test shorting EN through the resistor to VO+ and Gnd. If there is no change, try a 1KΩ. Last, use IN+ starting with the 10KΩ before trying a 1KΩ.

No. As I see it:
The 12V feed goes to IN+ and GND.
The output is taken from VO+ and GND.
5V is selected by shorting the two pads next to the '5V' marking.

Its possible the EN input is already biased to enable the supply to work by default. If so it can be left floating.
Apply the 12V input and see what you get from the output. If zero, then the EN input would likely need shorting to IN+ or GND. Toss a coin and wait for the appearance of the magic smoke :).
Yes I think I will go for that and see what happens , might have to wait another 4 weeks to get a new one though .

deepening on your device's current needs, you could always just build something simple like this on some perfboard. 7805's have always worked great for me andare simple to set up.

Yes, it could be that simple. But the 7805 chip is a linear regulator and it's among the oldest and least efficient of all, so much that some people consider it obsolete. The advantage of the TS's board is that it's not only adjustable, but it's also a switching regulator with far better efficiency and performance.

Doesn't seem that important to me when your goal is only to power a simple 5v device inside your auto.
True... but I was trying to help the TS with what he already has with him ... and on the other hand, I'd probably also use the good ol' an' ugly 7805 for this menial task... Although I'd filter its input to make sure that no ignition noise affects it.
