Wiring of AC motor at PLC output

I have an upcoming practical test that involves an electrically interlocked foward/reverse motor control using a PLC. I know what the ladder logic diagram will look like (exactly as shown in volume IV, chapter 6), and I know what the PLC program will be... My question is, exactly how will the motor be wired at the output(s) of the PLC? I don't know if the motor will be DC or AC...
Any assistance, especially a diagram or picture, would be greatly appreciated.
