I installed an electromagnetic lock on a door but it has residual magnetism when powered off. To solve the problem I was told to instal a relay. The relay has 8 terminals NO, NC, C POS and NO, NC, C, NEG. How do I wire these between the transformer and the lock?

 

Not sure how the relay will help with the residual magnetism unless it's configured to momentarily prove a reverse current to the coil.
But that would require a timer along with the relay.

Can you ask the person who told you to use a relay as to what exactly the relay is supposed to do?
