No those are not the same. One is a 5 Volt regulator IC, the other is a mosfet transistor.

A curious coincidence is if you do a search for "40V P-channel enhancement mode MOSFET" on EBay the first hits are all for the ZXMP4A16GTA device.

EDIT: ugh they are out until March for the Chinese holiday. The cheapest in the states is $10. My luck of doing this timely has prevailed.

 

That mosfet is $1.30 each at DigiKey, not $10. (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/ZXMP4A16KTC/ZXMP4A16KTCCT-ND/1137354 ) DigiKey no longer has a minimum, but shipping will add up. If you only need that one thing, then you will pay a premium. If you are at an educational institution, there is a chance you could get a sample.

Digikey does USPS First Class Mail for $3.22 up to 8 ounces. Order Monday and you have it before Friday.
