Will the infamous "flying car" finally have its day?

Didn't know they would/could work in air. The turbine/propeller is used in tug boats and other ships to hold position and for movement, but I would think the water has more drag than air that lets it work in water.

I think that what made a difference in this design is modern materials. Spinning those things at 1,600 rpm whilst constantly adjusting the blades' pitch must require some pretty fatigue resistant high tech stuff...
