I am struggling with this problem and i cannot find anything close to an answer...
Does anybody know is there some kind of detector that would detect the position of the gap of the wide area laser?

For example, here is the wide area laser and detector that detects lower light intensity so it knows that there is something in laser beams way.
But i would like to detect the position of the gap in the received light beam...
In this picture, if we take that laser beams width is 100 units/pixels, the gap would be from 30 to 60 units/pixels...

Is there any device that could do something like this?
Even if you know about a device that just detects a laser beams x and y position on detectors pad it would mean a lot to me...
