Here, I use Ron H, because it's my first name and the initial of my last name. On other forums, I use Roff (like the negation of Ron - it was an inside joke at work), 10kangstroms (code for where I worked before I retired), Geezeron (I'm an old fart), and Boise Ron (because there were already other Rons on that forum).

 

No particular reason -- I like HEX -- and 0xFF seemed just as good as any other number!

It's surprisingly common for members to do this with usernames.

In the UK, the numbers 0 and 4 are often used on number plates to denote the (capitalised) letters O and A. So 04 is an ending in the same vein as Krakatoa!

Well....I wouldn't really call it grovelling.....I just wanted to make amends.

But you never answered me....so I dicided to try again through a different IP.

 

My name is Dave. I use Tacan because it was a fun piece of avionics i enjoyed working on. Tacan stands for TACtical Airborne Navigation, such as the An/Arn 21,52, 118. I got tired of using Bluenite which was my handle on the CB radio. I thought it was time for a new screen name.
