I'm trying to understand a schematic with a 1/2 wave rectifier. After the diode, there are 2 parallel capacitors with a resistor between them on the diode side. What does the resistor do? It looks like it would make one capacitor charge faster.
Look up RC low-pass filter.Does it do that by altering that current that reaches each capacitor so the combined output is a mixture of 2 different wave forms?
It will reduce the size of the bumps but it won't change the number of bumps. It gives the caps a different charge rate.......thus giving two small humps instead of a one large one.
