Any ideas on why my potentiometer is shorting my circuit

 

Pin numbering backwards?

 

Looks as though the resistor closest to the IC could be shorting adjacent pins.

 

Don't force multiple leads into the same hole on a solderless breadboard. Also, is that red jumper shorting the rightmost resistor?
