Which RF modulator to use with my vintage TV and PS1.?

i have pruchased an old natonal tv with only a coax input, that i want to set up with a ps1, so the idea was to use an rf modulator, and the one i got from futuretronics (older one in a vintage hifi store, not the one listed on their site) works with a different, newer tv, but at the lowest adjustment on the tuning controls on the national it is a stable image and you can see it is close, but the bands are still very narrow, the rest of the tuning range, l, h and u, all around the dial is snow of various looks.

so i am thinking the outout of this rf modulator is too low for the tv?
tv is 50hz 75ohm
vhf/uhf.
the rf modulator has nothing to indicate its range.
the ps1 is 50hz

i opened up the modulator and it has an adjustment dial, it had a wax seal on it, in hindsight this should have been a red flag, but i decided to play with it, and no luck, except now it will barely pick up signal on the newer tv, so safe to say i have cooked that. and im thinking an rf modulator with adjustable output is the go
i have found to that look to be ideal in terms of adjustability

https://www.kingray.net.au/au/distribution-amps/md100us/
main difference being the vs is 44-470mhz and the us is 470-860mhz

so now its a matter of asking, wich one do i need for my tv, and how can i check what the tuning range of the tv is?

hopefully this is a fairly basic problem and someone will have encountered similar things before.

cheers, connor

Are you aware of this problem? The information is from the Wikipedia site below.
Due to an engineering oversight, the PlayStation does not produce a proper signal on several older models of televisions, causing the display to flicker or bounce around the screen. Sony decided not to change the console design, since only a small percentage of PlayStation owners used such televisions, and instead gave consumers the option of sending their PlayStation unit to a Sony service centre to have an official modchip installed, allowing it to play on older televisions.

hi all, thanks for the replies, i got another of the same modulator from the guy i got the original off to try it, and it was the same, so i figured id adjust the various dials inside the tv (only v hold is external, turns out all it took was adjusting the h-hold and now i can play medievil in full 12ppi resoloution!
