I don't understand your question. What specifically don't you understand about the Electromotive-Force?
In essence it is the force exerted on the electrons in the conductor material from electrical pressure, i.e. a voltage. It obeys Newton's Laws like any other force. You would have to consider electromagnetic theory to understand emf and its sister force - MagnetoMotive-Force mmf.
