The stuff from amazon is just a "grease" type that won't stay put without a mechanical clamp.
You might be able to fashion a metal clamp and bolt it on through the hole in the big device. Still, kind of time consuming.

I wouldn't be afraid to try that. But first.....wrap speakers in heavy blanket. Pure 2000 hz sine in both inputs. Scope on outputs. Crank it up.

Alternate ice packs and hair dryer and watch for distortion. I am assuming another dob is still intact(other channel).

Compare channels...dob vs no dob. Now you have base line to compare new putty.

That's about what I said in my first post...with the caveat that the thermal time constant might be too fast. Meanwhile, I'm going back up on the roof. You can take over for me while I'm gone.;)

Had a second look at new photo - big device is fully insulated; you could use a "plastic iron" epoxy with powdered iron in it - just be very careful to keep it away from the leads.
I like that idea. Use a little JBWeld and gently clamp the parts together over night.
