Could somebody explain what RPM "KLW" mean, in an car, bus or truck vehicle?

I know RPM mean rotations per minute of the engine, but RPM "KLW"?
Would it be the number of rotation per minute of the alternator (battery charger) ?

I am asking because last week I've used a Mercedes-Benz automotive scanner in a Mercedes bus, and the PC software of this scanner shows two kinds of RPM values in the screen:

- RPM Instantaneous
- RPM KLW

In this Mercedes-Benz scanner, I noticed the "RPM KLW" and the "RPM Instantaneous" always have similar values.

If your scanner is in another language, or even if not, the car is german and there's a high probability it's an abbreviation for something in another language. I think it's probably the alternator though.

 

probably one reason you don't find it it because it is German and not English abbreviation.
any of the three letters can be many things (they have more than one word starting with K).
for example possible candidate is Kurtz (short), Kraftzeug (vehicle).
L may be Lauf, LaufZeit etc. (run..., runtime...)
W could be Wiedergabe (feedback).
I don't know, just speculating... Perhaps one of German members could help.
