I have a few nets on the Sitara AM6254 that have a z like:
MCU_PORz
MCU_RESETSTATz
PORz_OUT

I know _N or 'bar' over the net name means active low like for resets

But I don't know what z means.

Is this the same as saying it's an open drain output?

 

Hi,
It is a Tri_State output pin.
In the Z state, it's effectively disconnected open/circuit.
Commonly used on Bus line connected lines.
