What could be the range of a DIY pressure sensor array made of velostat and copper ?

I'm working on a pressure mat and I've come across this tutorial where they use a sheet of velostat-an anti EDS packaging material made of a polymeric foil impregnated with carbon black to make it electrically conductive - My problem is that I don't anything about it as to how much pressure it can handle. How many times can I use it before I throw it away. Is it elastic enough ?

Ask the manufacturer.
How many times can I use it before I throw it away.
42 :D.
Seriously though, the number of times would depend on many factors, including :
what will be loading the mat (elephants, ladies in high heels, .....?),
the rigidity and smoothness of the mat support,
what you regard as 'it's worn out',
environmental conditions.
Is it elastic enough ?
Enough for what?

heels ! I would kill for such thing.

I'm talking about how much hysterisis I would obtain. I don't to get signal while someone's already stepped off the mat.
