Hope you stand by your principles and don't respond to anything I post, which I doubt. Frankly, I can't imagine the need for an ignore list.

Figure out if I will still have a job, or will I have to retire earlier than planned.
Things will be different. Facebook is saying that all senior engineers can work from home permanently. Lower level people can request work from home if they have favorable performance reviews.

The risk of being packed in like sardines is something that makes me appreciate being retired. When I retired, our cubicles were down to 6'x8'. Our backs were literally always against the wall. That's going to have to change.

May I pause, I have a joke not appropriate. For a joke.

dog joke for the night:
A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said, 'Jesus knows you're here.'
He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. When he heard nothing more, he shook his head and continued.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard 'Jesus is watching you.'
Startled, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.
'Did you say that?' he hissed at the parrot.
'Yes', the parrot confessed, then squawked, 'I'm just trying to warn you that he's watching you.'
The burglar relaxed. 'Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?'
'Moses,' replied the bird.
'Moses?' the burglar laughed. 'What kind of people would name a bird Moses?'
'The kind of people who would name a Rottweiler Jesus.'

I have quit long ago the initial Coronavirus thread because it consisted of statistics and little else. We are going the same way here.

I also know that, down here, there is a lot of people to die yet.

Having been at sea, in long voyages, during 17 years, taught me some personal discipline and even self control but nothing can compensate loneliness.

Yesterday we had in our family, the I think, 8th zoom session to celebrate a birthday. My 3 youngest grandsons and at least one of the partners in each couple, were frankly angry or did not assist altogheter. Not nice to see; tension is quite easy to perceive.

Once a week, a daughter who lives not too far, comes with groceries and previous shaking elbows as it was suggested in the beginning we talk a little. For when she came the first time, I prepared special furniture so our meeting could be held at the reccomended distance.

BTW Papabravo's reply, being 1 year older myself, could have been mine verbatim.

Have to add that the long hair forced me to retrieve a comb from somewhere to improve my look every morning. Yes, I need that barber.

Meat processing plants seem to have problems; they seem to be breeding grounds for viruses. They were probably passing diseases all along and it was just never traced to them.
Two days ago, we had exactly that not too far from here. The whole crew in quarantine. What is going on with all the meat already processed, nobody says.

I have covid19 hair as well, I started social distancing years ago, lung issues. My Grand Children know it’s air hugs is someone is sick at their house, my daughter is quick to respond well Kacia or so and so is sick, my response is ok, let me know when they get better and I’ll check in then, love you all Grampa.

If someone is coughing or seems ill, I will step out of line at the grocery or turn and walk the other.way as if they had leprosy. So far so good, you can’t fight what you can’t see.

Edit: And oh and yeah, nothing will change for me but my hair.

Hello all,
We are being isolated for about two months now, and in many parts of the world lockdown is ending soon.
We have faced a lot in this Pandemic and now it's time to regain our energy.
So what is the first thing you are going to do after this lockdown ends.
Start a class action lawsuit for those that forced us into it :)

Maybe fly out to Los Angeles again to visit a friend.

I am tired of it, all of it. Tomorrow is Saturday May 23rd and the start of a Memorial Day Weekend. Finally we are looking at sunshine and fair weather in the 70s F. I plan a nice bike ride up to the Lake Erie shoreline. There is a nice bar up there on Whiskey Island which opens tomorrow to start the summer season. I plan to stop at that bar and admire the marina. All outside so no rules apply and Ohio is slowly opening up including indoor dining. As to this entire mess? I am done with all of it, I am not going to run around living, if we want to call it that, in fear of a virus. When I make my super market trips I wear a mask but no need tomorrow and it't hard to enjoy a cold hard cider drinking it through a mask.

Oh yes, one more thing. As we begin the weekend I will take pause and remember some gave all and all gave some. I will remember those who gave all and reflect on them before I enjoy a start of summer weekend.

Ron
