Hello, in the attached article they have a certain element shown bellow where its zeros is being planned to fit the grating lobes of the array factor.
In the article they say that they use pairs to play with the zeros,,how is that?
What is the name of this anntena?
How do we plan the zero location of such antenna?
Thanks.

Patch-Antennas, especially very high Frequency Patch-Antennas,
are impossible to predict just using Dimensional Math Formulas.

This is a cut-&-try, cut-&-try, cut-&-try, hundreds of times, procedure,
with careful field-strength measurements being made after each change.

If this is a Hobbyist-Project, the best thing to do,
is to meticulously follow a set of "Known-to-Work", proven Plans,
and even then, the results can easily be disappointing.
Every single tiny detail can make, or break, the desired performance.

My suggestion is to purchase a manufactured Antenna
designed specifically for the application You have in mind.
Preferably with a Transceiver-Chip built-in to the same Circuit-Board.
