What are these components?

I've disarmed a radio/cd/tape player that was broken and inside of it I saw a few unknown components which I've placed inside a red box in the next picture.

Can someone, please, tell me what are those and what are they use for?

Thanks in advance!

The big one is a variable capacitor and the little ones are transformers.

That thing has to be very old. Those transformers are not used now.

Thanks for your fast reply.
Well, It looks old. My question is, those transformers are the same as the ones used in a bridge rectifier? Could I use salvage them?

How does a variable capacitor work? I've heard about variable resistors but I've never seen a variable capacitor.

Those transformers are high frequency, like 455 KHz. No chance they are power transformers.
The variable cap either works by compression or interweaving the plates.
