Altium 45° Rotated Components Causing Excessive Placement Spacing

Hello,
I am working on a PCB layout in Altium Designer and placing some main components at 45°. The issue I am facing is that after rotating the main component by 45°, I cannot place nearby capacitors and resistors close to it. Altium keeps forcing a larger spacing distance even though:

  • Component clearance rule is set to 0 mil
  • The issue mainly happens only around rotated components
Has anyone experienced this issue with 45° component placement in Altium?
What setting or footprint property typically causes nearby components to be pushed farther away when components are rotated diagonally? Thank you for your help.

A good guess is that the router software has decided that the 45 degree rotated part is an end mounted cylinderical capacitor. AND it believes that it is much smarter than you, even though it is wrong.
