wat can cause BJT,MOSFET failures?
for me all the time MOSFET is failing an hour.
wat cud b the problem?
ESD (static charge) ll affect it very much?

 

Please supply a circuit, values, load, supply, and any other circumstances

 

its just a switching circuit..
out put is goin to a motor drive..details i donno..
wat are all the general cases of failures?

There are many scenarios that could potentially be causing your failure. I agree with gadget. Without a diagram of the section of circuitry that is failing it is difficult to narrow down the cause.

Post your circuit and the readings you've taken so far.

Otherwise, the failure analysis for individual components can be opens, shorts, leakage ... caused by exceeding component specifications which could include just about anything up to a nearby lightning strikes travelling through the earth connection.
