Hello there,I tried to edit my previous post but I can't seem to. I just tested the voltage with the camera powered on and, sure enough, it's reading 12.8V. So my assumption was correct - at least for my camera, the supply reading 19V when it's not connected to anything is *not a fault*.
Have you found a solution for your problem?
I'm having the same issues with a philips vkr-6820 (camera seems to work fine (playing video, fast forward, displaying view) but shuts down when i try to record to vhs and then shuts down right after powering up).
Came to that conclusion to, after having switched that potentiometer for a 10k one, which made the PSU put out no more than 11.6V or so (read from the adaptor that plugs into the camera, after shorting two pins for PSU mode)...
In hindsight i can't see how a smaller potentiometer (org. was 20k) could make any difference anyhow, but i'm an electronics newbie.
Would be really grateful for any advice.
