Hello guys just to let you know i have managed to get this power supply working. In one of the earlier post's (#10) the video i mentioned that the circuit board was almost exactly the same as the one i have apart from some on the diodes where the opposite way round . so today i watched the video again and paused it as he was looking at his circuit board and the tracks and everything else was the same apart for some diodes , so with that (and the fact i was at a dead end with it) i decided to change the diodes and make the as the one in the video . and hey presto it worked.(all can say the printed board is wrong) Well i am still got my input as 20vac (it states 24vac but its all i have for now) but the power out i get fro 0v to 25vdc. Is this because i need 24vac input ? i have put some pictures and ringed the diodes i have turned around and some pictures of the printed board after i removed the diodes too .

Sorry Dennis .
Hello, Just to let you know i have managed to get this power supply working. In one of the earlier post's (#10) the video i mentioned that the circuit board was almost exactly the same as the one i have apart from some on the diodes where the opposite way round .
So today i watched the video again and paused it as he was looking at his circuit board.
The tracks and everything else was the same apart for some diodes , So with that i mind (and the fact i was at a dead end with it) I decided to change the diodes and make it as the one in the video , And hey presto it worked.
(all can say the printed board is wrong)
Well i am still got my input as 20vac (it states 24vac but its all i have for now) but the power out i get from 0v to 25vdc.
Is this because i need 24vac input ? I have put some pictures and highlighted the diodes i have turned around and some pictures of the printed board after i removed the diodes too .

Hi mally
I know that a long time has passed, but I have just seen you post today. If you are still interested I have the manual and circuit schematic for your power supply. There are a lot of problems with that circuit. I also have an update that fixes all the problems. I have assembled the updated 3A version and it works perfectly. Can easily be modified to 5A output. Can post all if you want.

Sorry for the late response. I didn't get a notification until someone reincarnated the thread...

The voltage you'll be able to get could be reduced by as much as 1.414*4.
