I think AG was referring to the person who copied the circuit for is article, not any of the posters here.

 

CD4093 RC oscillators are great- they always work.

The only downside is the variability of the trigger points, makes oscillator frequency a bit unpredictable, but for non-critical oscillators it's not an issue.

It's my favorite chip, you can do so much with a CD4093 and a few extra parts.

It is always interesting to get a different approach, even on something that I think that I know, and even if I already saw multiple time some explanations. I was unaware of that particular article and, at first glance, I admit that I like it. I just took the time to thank you, and I go back there, right now

 

So apparently there's sufficient hysteresis in a real circuit to avoid the problem the simulation shows.
