There's a logic level version of that part that might be more suitable.

 

irf510 has so small C(gs) that I wonder if You need any driver at all. Or if harshly want, then any 2n2222 with it complementary counterpart is just like the hammer on the nail. My experience with it is Clapp autogenerator of 110 MHz however at high frequencies it becomes Vcc sensitive, say at 10V it stops, at 11V it works well and at 11,5V it stops again. Dont know why, but just such effect is specific for this little wonder.
