EVH, the best guitarist ever? You and my son ... not even close. Here are two names for you ... Stevie Ray Vaughan and Andrés Torres Segovia.

Sure, EVH is a great technician, but is he a great musician? Listen to Vaughan and Segovia to get a true understanding of what the guitar is capable of in terms of expression and the interpretation of musical art. They are at opposite ends of the spectrum, but are the true masters of the last century.

At about 4:20 it gets really impressive.

 

Todays young guitar players are too into adding too many notes. What makes a great guitar player is knowing the notes to leave out! SRV rules!

 

Segovia probably the best acoustic player ever, electric, gotta be Hendrix.
