Ultrasonic board output

Does anybody know what an ultrasonic circuit board produces? Supposedly they produce a square wave but the leads going to the piezo are red and black. Is it a DC pulse that drives the piezo or is it an AC square wave?
Also, will a DMM measure the amps from the circuit board? It would seem being a square wave that it wouldn't work right for the DMM

The circuit board will be used with a Langevin transducer from Steminc.com part # SMBLTD45F40H

Post a circuit diagram or pictures of your pcb...

It might be a Transformer oscillator, or logic chip squared output.

I'm at an offshore job right now but will be able to post a pic when I get home. Is there any way to test the output of the power supply or the ultrasonic board?
